17th Meeting of the South Asian Telecommunication Regulators’ Council (SATRC-17)

The 17th Meeting of the South Asian Telecommunication Regulators’ Council (SATRC-17) will be held from 4 to 6 October 2016 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. SATRC-17 will be organized by the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and hosted by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

The SATRC meeting is held annually to discuss and coordinate regulatory and other related issues in the area of telecommunication and ICT that are common for the regulators of SATRC Members. The meeting will be attended by the heads of telecommunication regulatory bodies of SATRC Member countries and designated senior level officers.

The SATRC-17 will discuss the key policy and regulatory issues in the SATRC countries, approve the outcomes of SATRC Action Plan Phase V and adopt SATRC Action Plan Phase VI. SATRC-17 will include special sessions for the Industry-Regulator Dialogue to facilitate the telecom/ICT industry to put forward issues of interest to the regulators. There will also be a Regulatory Roundtable which will be held exclusive for the head of regulators to discuss and share thoughts on important regulatory issues that need regional collaboration specifically for the SATRC Member countries and generally to the Asia-Pacific region.

Participation and Registration:

SATRC Members, APT Members, Associate Members, Affiliate Members and International/Regional Organizations can attend the meeting by registering online. 

Participation of Non-Members: Non-Members can attend the meeting with “Observer” status by paying Registration Fee in consultation with the relevant Member Administration as appropriate. Non-Member participants under National Delegation are exempted from paying the Registration Fee upon submission of a letter of nomination signed by the responsible officer of the Administration. Above requirement does not apply to the host country participation. Please contact APT Secretariat for the payment methods of the Registration Fees.

You are requested to use the proper document template for your contribution. Contributions will be posted on APT Website prior to the starting of the meeting.
